Compare the major Danish a-kasser

Every fund pays the same dagpenge, because the rate is set by law. What actually differs is price, who they accept, whether they serve you in English, and what extras you get. Sort the table and choose based on facts.

Some Danish unions market their own a-kasse brand — for example IDA and Business Danmark — but the a-kasse membership itself is administered by Akademikernes A-kasse and Min A-kasse respectively. They are listed here under the fund that actually administers them.

        We list all 21 of Denmark's state-recognised a-kasser.

Price and source shown per fund. Prices and calculations are kept up to date, but always check the official source for the latest figures and rules. Akasse.io is independent and is not an a-kasse.

A-kasse comparison: questions people also ask

Which a-kasse is cheapest in our comparison in 2026?
Din Sundhedsfaglige A-kasse is the cheapest membership in our comparison at 513 DKK per month, and it admits health professionals. The cheapest fund open to everyone is A&Til (former FTFa) at 521 DKK. The gap between the cheapest and the most expensive fund we list is about 60 DKK a month.
Do all a-kasser pay the same dagpenge?
Yes. The dagpenge rate is set by Danish law, so every a-kasse pays the same: a standard maximum of 22,041 DKK a month before tax in 2026 for full-time insured members. Price, service language and extras are the only real differences between funds.
Can I be in an a-kasse without joining a union?
Yes. Membership of an a-kasse and membership of a fagforening (union) are two separate things. Funds such as Akademikernes, ASE, Frie and Det Faglige Hus can be joined without any union membership, and the price in our table is the a-kasse fee alone.
Which a-kasse is best for English speakers in Denmark?
Filter the table by “English service”. Those funds handle sign-up, case work and unemployment claims in English, which matters most when you have to report hours and job searches every month.
        Is a-kasse membership tax deductible?
Yes. A-kasse contributions are deductible on your Danish tax return, and the deduction is normally reported automatically by the fund. In practice that cuts the real cost of membership by roughly a quarter.
How often do a-kasse prices change?
Most funds adjust their monthly fee once a year, usually in January. We re-check the published prices against each fund's own website and show the verification date under the table.
